The Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center

On July 24, we enjoyed field trip to the Chumash Museum in Santa Ynez. Eighteen of us attended and enjoyed learning about Chumash history and culture. After the museum tour, we had a relaxing lunch together at a nearby park.

The Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center, opened in 2025, celebrates over 8,000 years of Chumash history through artifacts, exhibits, and immersive cultural experiences. Designed to reflect traditional Chumash architecture, the museum includes a ceremonial canoe, native plant gardens, and interactive learning spaces. It serves as a sustainable, living tribute to Chumash heritage, language, and community.
